Black Butler: Complete First Season (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

AMAZING!!!!
I love this anime, it is absolutely insanely awesome. I highly recommend it. Sebastian is the most bad ass butler I've ever heard of. This whole series is spectacular. There are demons, grim reapers, people you'll adore, people you'll have fun hating, it has everything.

Aku made shitsuji desu.
That's Sebastian's catch phrase of sorts, roughly translating to "I am one hell of a butler" or "I am a devil of a butler"
But in Japanese it has two meanings, also sounding like this:
Akuma de shitsuji desu.
That means "I am a devil and a butler"

Also instead of Grell saying "Bassy" it's actually "Sebas-chan" which in Japanese would be like a disrespectful (since Sebastian hates him) pet name.

Hope you found that interesting!

ONE OF THE BEST!
This show is one of the best animes I've seen in a while, (although the manga is a bit better for those who want to check it out), but overall this anime is very well done with lots of mystery, action, and humor. If you haven't seen it yet you're missing out!

Love this show!
I bought the first season and the second season together and I was very impressed on how fast they arrived! Two days early, it tickled my fancy and I am watching it right now. The cases and DVDs are in perfect shape and the show is just amazing(though I prefer the manga over the show.) I recommend this for anyone 16+!

Black Butler: Complete Second Season [Blu-ray]

Blu-Ray AND DVD: Just to clarify
My copy of this just arrived today and I can ensure to you that despite the misleading title it is in fact a Blu-Ray and DVD Combo Pack just like it should be. Of course the image and the description should have been enough proof but I'm just saying this to eliminate all doubt. The case is nearly identical in style to the complete season one except in a smaller, more normal case.

It comes with all 12 episodes and the 6 OVAs.

The Butler is Back!
When I learned that there was a second season of Black Butler, I wasn't quite sure what to think. The two people on the cover obviously weren't Ciel and Sebastian, and considering I had read thirteen volumes of manga and never seen anyone like these two, I was pretty confused. But, since people had given it such great reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I was not disappointed.

The story begins with the introduction of one of the two new major characters, Alois Trancy. Like Ciel, he is a noble with a demonic butler, the bespectacled Claude Faustus, serving at his side. By the end of the first episode, his four other servants have been introduced: Hannah Annafellows and the three violet-haired triplets. Ciel and Sebastian make an appearance in Episode 1 as well, although it is very brief. The drama only gets deeper from there, with an immediate rivalry developing between Ciel and Alois, as well as between the two demon butlers.

While the story is very intense...

great sequal
This was a great second season to my favorite anime series. The addition of another demon butler added another area of drama and interesting plot movements to add to the endless humor that black butler is full of.

Step It Up

Kara "Step It Up" is a great DVD album
I ordered this through Amazon--I don't remember if it was a direct or third-party sale, but usually I have to buy Asian pop music from Asian or Los Angeles based vendors. The product arrived promptly and in perfect condition, and the DVD recording is top-quality without defects (something that is not always the case when I have bought from sellers in Asia). One DVD is a fabulous music video of the Kara female singing group, and the second DVD shows the group rehearsing and other scenes and discussions with group members. Kara is one of the most popular groups in Korea and in Japan. If you want an album that could immediately become your favorite one--this may be it!

AWESOME!!!
First of I thought it'll be a big packaging judging from the image,
but it has a really nice small size to it. At least it won't take up too much space.

Packaging is very beautiful and I really love the design.
The photo book... well let's just say it's worth having
in my Kara collection.

Another item I'll most definitely treasure in mint condition.

Demons [Blu-ray]

Italian Horror in All Gory Glory
I first saw this film alongside Beyond by Fulci, and at the time I got the films confused only that Demons was even more horrifying since it takes place in a movie theater and I was in a movie theater when I saw it and subsequently Beyond for the second time. That being said the film is highly recommended for gore afficiandos and films of italian horror. The sequels to this film which I have not seen, received poor reviews. Much like the sequels to Fulci's Zombi were not very good. Yes there's gore in this film but there's at least a bit of story. Great for a drunken weekend with buddies who have similar interests.

A great horror movie!
Set in Berlin, a new theater has opened which is showing a realistic violent horror movie about demons and the occult then suddenly some of the audiences transform into demons literally and ripping almost everyone to shreds, only some humans must defend themselves and find a way out.

A well made, original and entertaining horror action fantasy from director Lamberto Bava ( Director of " Blade in the Dark" and "Shock") and produced by legendary Italian horror maestro Dario Argento ( of "Suspiria" fame) loaded with great make-up effects, gore, action, a decent story and a nice twist in the end makes this a definite must see movie for fans of the genre. The DVD is quite good in picture and sound with fine extras especially the commentary by Lamberto Bava.

Also recommended: "From Dusk Till Dawn", "Demons 2", "Cemetery Man", " The Church", " The Last Action Hero", " New Nightmare", "Day of the Dead", " 28 Days Later", " The Evil Dead", "Dawn of the Dead ( both 1978...

Some of Argentino's best work,
What can be said about Demons ? The one thing that comes to mind is that it's stood the test of time after 16 years. I consider myself a huge movie buff and this is one of the films that scarred me as a child. I can reall watching this flick with my dorm buddies in both the Air Force and colleage and they were enterainted by it. What makes this film so scary is the gore and effects. When I was 4 my parents banned from me seeing this movie. My first time seeing it I know why the film isn't for those who can't handle gore or have weak stomach. The musical score and tense pacing are amazing and if you watch the film in pitch black with surround sound it'll give you a few scary moments. I give the fim *** out of four. I give this rating based on the camera work and score. The film's only bad point is the dubbing.

A Life in Japan

Good read.
Nothing new here. A deep affection for a country that considers ALL non-Japanese people as Gaijin (often derogatory). No matter how long you live there, you will always feel "other".
